Preventing Fentanyl Abuse
RUHS Public Health Director Kim Saruwatari shared information and resources for preventing fentanyl abuse at a summit for parents hosted by Assemblywoman Kate Sanchez on Monday, Nov. 6.
During the event at Murrieta Mesa High School, Public Health's Injury Prevention Services program gave away fentanyl test strips and naloxone, the nasal spray that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose and save a life. Naloxone, known as the brand name Narcan, is just one of the many free tools and programs available from RUHS to address substance use disorders.
