Psychiatry Residency Program Celebrates

We recently held an event on June 7 to celebrate the achievements of two exceptional Psychiatry Residents, Dr. Meriam Naqui and Dr. Daniel Ward, from the RUHS Psychiatry Residents Program. These residents are now pursuing fellowships in child and adolescent psychiatry, marking an important step in their careers. The event also served as a prelude to the program's upcoming first graduation, where four psychiatry residents will become Board Certified Psychiatrists.

The RUHS Psychiatry Residents Program aims to produce highly skilled professionals dedicated to improving mental health care in Riverside County. One of its key initiatives is the Resident Education and Continuity Clinic (RECC), an innovative outpatient clinic that follows a multidisciplinary team approach. RECC involves psychiatry residents, attending psychiatrists, therapists, case managers, and consumer peer support specialists. This collaborative environment ensures high-quality behavioral health services, specialized treatments, and supportive care tailored to individual needs.

RECC also plays a pivotal role in teaching and mentoring future behavioral health professionals. By providing real-world clinical experiences, it helps psychiatry residents develop essential skills and gain a comprehensive understanding of the community's diverse mental health challenges. The program's dedication to teaching underscores its commitment to nurturing the growth and development of its residents, who will go on to make a positive impact in the field.

The recent award dinner event bid farewell to Dr. Meriam Naqui and Dr. Daniel Ward as they embarked on fellowships in child and adolescent psychiatry. Their accomplishments serve as a testament to the program's commitment to producing highly skilled professionals. With the upcoming graduation, where four residents will become Board Certified Psychiatrists, the RUHS Psychiatry Residents Program is poised to further elevate mental health care in Riverside County.

By combining excellence in care, education, and community support, the RUHS Psychiatry Residents Program and RECC are steadfast in their mission to improve mental health outcomes. Through their dedication and passion, they continue to shape the future of behavioral health, ensuring a brighter and healthier tomorrow for all.
